Privacy Policy - Slayte Chat

1. What Slayte Chat is
Slayte Chat is an AI chat and drama-production app. If you sign in with an account we issue, you can chat right away with no setup. In that case your chat requests go from your phone through our server to an AI service provider, and only then are usage records kept on our server (section 2). If you prefer, you can instead connect your own AI service, PC or server in the app settings; those do not pass through our server.
2. What we collect
If you do not sign in and use only an AI service, PC or server that you connect yourself, we collect nothing. The app has no ads, no analytics and no crash-reporting service.
The "account link" is a feature available only with an account we issue to you. Only if you sign in with it, we receive and store: your login id, login sessions, a device name (your phone's manufacturer and model), a device token, and the content you create so that it can be synced between your devices: conversations and messages, series and storyboards (titles, story text, shot prompts, dialogue, sound notes), and information about your files (name, size, checksum, location), but not the files themselves. Your password is used only to sign in and is not stored on your phone. Our server stores only a one-way hash of it, not the password itself.
Synced content is stored separately per account. Other accounts on the same sync server cannot see it, and it is delivered only to the devices signed in to your account. Accounts are invite-only.
Only when your chat goes through our server (you are signed in and have no AI service of your own connected), we store usage records. They contain the account, device ID, request time, model name, whether it was streamed, success or failure status and token counts, plus daily request and token totals per account. We keep them for 90 days. Your conversation content (text and attached pictures) passes through our server to the AI service provider and is not stored by us.
3. Where your data goes when you use the app
- AI service through our server (when signed in to an account): on a phone that is signed in and has no AI service of its own connected, your conversation text, attached pictures and quality-check images are sent from the phone to our server (Cloudflare Workers), which passes them to an AI service provider and returns the answer to the phone. We do not store this content, and the provider handles it under its own policy. Voice transcription does not use this route; it is sent directly to the AI service with the key you entered, not through our server.
- The AI service you connect yourself: your conversation content, attached pictures and audio, and quality-check images are sent directly, not through our server, to the AI service you connect in the app settings to get a response. That service handles them under its provider's own policy.
- Your own PC: in PC mode the app talks to the Slayte Chat PC helper you run, through a Cloudflare quick tunnel (https), protected by your password.
- Your own server: prompts, reference pictures and generated clips go to the server you control over TLS pinned to your server's certificate. The app also uses the connection details you enter to call that server's management functions to start or stop it.
- Web search and web pages: when the assistant searches or reads a page it sends the search words or page address to Naver, DuckDuckGo, Bing or the page's own site.
We are not responsible for how these third parties handle data.
4. Connection details and local storage
The connection details for the AI service and server you connect, your server token and your PC login token are stored encrypted on your phone with a key held in the Android Keystore and are never sent to us. Conversations and generated media are stored in the app's private storage. App data is excluded from Android cloud backup and device transfer.
5. Permissions
- Internet
- Notifications (to tell you a long job needs you or has finished)
- Foreground service and wake lock (so long jobs continue while the app is closed)
- Receive boot completed (to resume unfinished jobs after a restart)
The app does not use your camera, microphone, location or contacts. You choose pictures and documents with the system picker.
6. Retention and deletion
- Local data: delete conversations in the app, or uninstall / clear storage.
- Connection details: remove each item on the connection details screen.
- Synced content: deleting a conversation or series in the app does not remove it from our sync server right away. It is marked deleted and permanently removed by a daily cleanup after 30 days.
- Account link: "Disconnect" signs this device out and deletes its device token. Content already synced stays on our server until you request deletion.
- AI usage records: deleted automatically after 90 days.
- Expired login sessions are cleaned up automatically.
To delete the data we hold for your account, email privacy@snakesteak.xyz from your account's login id (or include it in the email). Within 30 days we delete the account (login id, sessions, devices, pairings), its AI usage records, and the synced content created from that account's devices, and confirm by email. Our database provider keeps automatic point-in-time recovery history, so deleted data can remain in that history for up to 30 days after deletion, after which it is gone. 7. Security
All connections use HTTPS/TLS. We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising.
8. Children
Slayte Chat is not directed to children under 13 (or the age of digital consent in your country) and we do not knowingly collect their data.
